Just hours before debuting her new style, the 33-year-old actress shared a soul bearing video with her social media followers as she went through the transformation, cutting away her long, curly locks and discussing her reasons for the big change with celebrity hair stylist, Neeko.
The Game of Thrones star wiped away tears as she explained, ‘There’s some much, like, joy and, like, celebration connected to it, but also all this pressure and like, trauma and all these things I had to overcome with it, you know? ‘

The British born actress said it was the first time in her life that she was able to make a decision about how to wear her hair.
‘I think, I like asked my mum when I was, like, 15 and then I went into acting and the job dictated what my hair did. So this is like the first time in 33 years, I’ve had like … I made a decision for my hair that’s completely my own. ‘
The F9: The Fast Saga actress elucidated her reasons for sharing the clip in a lengthy post, writing, ‘I wanted to share this for those who have experienced any kind of feelings of othering or hair discrimination,’ she shared, ‘and then had a long, tough journey to self acceptance or feelings of having no autonomy over yourself… or… worrying about not fitting certain beauty standards’

The actress has overcome more struggles with her self-perception, explaining how a flashback picture on social media helped her change the way she sees herself.
She told Women’s Health: ‘You know how on Facebook it shows you a memory of yourself from six years ago or four years ago? A picture came up on my phone, and I went, “I look so great!” ‘
‘But I also remember that, at the time, I thought I was overweight and needed to do all these unhealthy things. We just beat ourselves up constantly and we’re never perfect enough. ‘

After realizing what she was doing, the Maze Runner actress said she had to change how she felt about exercise and decided what she wanted to get from it.
Nathalie added she has a particular passion for yoga, explaining she loves that there is ‘no pressure to be the best at it’.
Also contributing to her wellness was her decision to become a vegan after trying it out for a week eight years ago and hasn’t looked back since. She explained after switching to veganism she quickly began to notice results, with her friends paying her compliments about how bright she looked and sleeping better.
